After a shoot you have hundreds or thousands of photos to look through. Kepla checks every single one against clear criteria: is it sharp, are the eyes open, is the expression good, and is it a near-copy of the frame beside it. Then it picks your best shots and hands you a shortlist, in minutes. Nothing is deleted. Every photo you took is still there.
On a typical shoot it shortlists about 4 photos in every 10. So a wedding where you took 2,000 photos comes back as around 800 picks. The exact number depends on how you shoot: long bursts give a tighter shortlist, deliberate single frames give a longer one. You can always look at the photos it did not pick, and add any of them back.
No, and this is the part we want to be completely clear about. Kepla never deletes, moves, or changes a single file. It only marks which photos it picked. Every original stays on your drive and your cards exactly as it was, and anything not picked is one tap away if you want it.
Yes, and you should. You approve the shortlist before anything moves forward, and you can add or drop any photo. The point is to save you the first pass, not to take the decision away from you.
Yes, and for some shoots you should. The phone is built for the fast first pass: swipe, approve, done, usually before you get home. But a phone screen is not where you compare two nearly identical frames at full size, or check focus on someone’s eyes at 100%. So the same shoot opens on your Mac, with everything exactly as you left it, and you carry on there: side by side, zoomed right in, every photo it set aside still available. One shoot, both screens, nothing to redo.
It is good at the technical calls: focus, exposure, closed eyes, duplicate frames. It is not going to know that the slightly soft photo of the grandmother laughing is the one the family will print. That is why you approve the shortlist, and why nothing is ever deleted. Software is fast at narrowing things down. You are the one who knows what the photos mean.
